Carnival de Cuba London Festival is back to London for 2008 with a huge showcase of live music, dance, workshops and more on to Southwark Park along Jamaica Road. The theme for Carnival de Cuba 2008 “Out of Africa” celebrates Cuba's roots in Africa. The Park was alive with Latin spirit in Carnival de Cuba, buzzing with vibrancy, energy and colour. A black woman, an African author, Ngozi Adichie, on June 6th 2007 won one of Britain’s biggest literary prizes for women.
