The African day is a free festival celebrating African culture featuring music, dance, arts and crafts market including African food and drinks; yes foods, real test of Africa; ‘Recreating a continent on Trafalgar Square,’ in the words of Boris Johnson, The Mayor of London.

African Day is designed to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions that African communities have made and continue to make in and to London, and United Kingdom as a whole.

This year festival music-wise did not disappoint, except for the rain. Yes rain as usual. The Musicians list includes Les Amazones de Guinea, Bassekou Jouyate, Kanda Bongo Drumers, Black Eagles dancers, and other performers.
